As of late, I'm finding it increasingly hard to motivate myself to get any work done... Of course, In my usual rebellious and contradictory style, this makes me churn out more than ever. However, the increasing possibility of a nervous and creative breakdown is looming over me more and more each day, due in part to the nature of the course I am on.
Every day we are seemingly reminded, advised and stressed upon the diminishing possibility of ever finding a job in the animation business during this recession, and with every 'you have to work harder than ever. Do as we say' speeches, the notion of my dream job seems further and further away. Are we that desperate to work in this business that we are being forced to abandon the creativity and freedom which made us crave it in the first place?
Strangely, every time my work is critiqued and criticised, (or worse, ignored!), it just makes me all the more determined. Who needs the best grades, or 'suck up' attitude, when you have dreams, and the blind determination to follow them through to the end? As long as I keep practising, I'm bound to get better, right? All I have to do is just keep practising and practising and practising until I'm so ridiculously amazing and original that you would have to be a complete idiot not to acknowledge me... Sounds painful, long, and possibly a complete waste of time... But I wouldn't have it any other way!

Creativity is a type of learning process where the teacher and pupil are located in the same individual.
